BioHello all. Let me see, what can I say about myself. I created this journal because of my love of all things costuming. I enjoy anything to do with researching, designing and sewing of costumes, whether it is historical or fantasy based. I love the renaissance festivals and have been enchanted with them since a small child. I am not currently involved in SCA, but am looking into it. I do have a group that I perform with occasionally, when I can find the time!
I am married with a (crazy!) 4-year-old daughter, a dog named Juno and a cat named Spartacus. I live in a 75-year-old house that my husband and I are ALWAYS working on. I love old houses but I am starting to wonder if I live in “the money pit”! I love to do the cosmetic side of it, it is just the replacement of the roof, furnace, air conditioner, water heater, pipes, windows, doors and so on that is dragging me down. I am also a big family person and dearly love hanging out with them. My sister (in-law) and I both love costuming so it is always fun to have a partner in crime. I usually get the “deer in the headlight” look from my husband when I go off on the details of my sewing projects and I do not blame him for that!
I love movies, especially a good yarn like “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”. I have been dragging my daughter to movies since she was one and I think I have her properly trained now, poor thing. I have found a new love for children’s flicks and look forward to their release just so I can get to the theater. Along with movies, I love live theater and am a huge fan of Shakespeare. My husband’s favorite is the histories and mine are the comedies and dramas.
I work as a graphic artist for a small company. I do everything from maintaining a website with over 10,000 items to catalogs and packaging. I am currently working on my own site for my sister-in-law and me so we have a place to share our research and designs. I love it all, but still wonder what I want to be when I grow up. I dearly love photography and would love this to be a bigger part of my professional life.
So I suppose that is me in a nutshell.
